We just finshed cutting Isaac's hair yesterday. I say "just finished" because it was a two-day affair. He saw me cutting Ashton's hair and next thing I knew he had the scissors and was trying to cut his own. So after a "snip snip" here and a "snip snip" there interspersed with many HOLD STILL!s, empty threats, and whispered obscenities, Isaac's hair went from long and shaggy to short and sleek. Sarah says he looks like a sleek seal, an excellent description. I think I cried for a good half hour afterwards while Isaac went on his merry way, just happy to have all those itchy hair clippings off the back of his neck. Oh well. The good news is that I won't have to cut it for a good 6 months, and besides, hair grows back, right?

Winter Blues
In case you ever doubt us when we say that Rochester is cold . . . here is a pic of our window, and yes, the frost is on the INSIDE of the window. Unfortunate these pictures do not show the frost at its best . . . we had to pull out the blowdryer when we came home from winter break to defrost the window sill.

Lunar Eclipse
We "hosted a lunar eclipse" at our house tonight. Nature provided the eclipse, and we provided hot chocolate and cookies for those crazy enough to brave the cold. These are a few of the pics. Unfortunately, the clouds came in right in time for the full eclipse, but we were lucky enough to have a few good clearings throughout the night.

What happens when you leave three children alone in a room?
Ironically, the mess they made to keep us out was the very thing they were trying to hide.

Bed head
Ashton woke up looking like a troll: grumpy, groggy and great troll-like hair. But once he saw the camara, he perked right up.
Sometimes the red in his hair really shows up in pictures.
Isaac getting in on the fun.

Dinner with Mr. Eastman
Last Friday our medical school class enjoyed dinner at the famous Eastman house, mansion of Kodak's founder George Eastman. After Dinner, Aukai and I were able to have some good "down time" with Mr. Eastman, though Aukai thinks the bachelor looks a little too interested in me.
Take a PICTURE of ME!!!
Warm (?) Winter Day
On the way to school I was surprised to find that the grass looked more like a melting ice arena than our typical winter wonderland. When I came home from schol, both boys were bare and happy and there was a pile of dripping, muddy clothes on our back porch. These are a couple pics Aukai took. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to get the camara until after the kids discovered that being cold and sopping wet isn't so fun, afterall.
Isaac after diving face-first into the mud.
Ashton trying to decide whether he should have taken that last dive into a 2-foot deep puddle.
